My 1st day in CAIRO, EGYPT
Its about 4 am, and I started to hear this loud noise, I opened the window and its the prayers of hundreds of ppl praying in there homes or wherever they were at the moment… Incredible how they all were in harmony in a sense. starting and stopping at the same time. Now Im hearing roosters crowing, and the praying has stopped.

I am staying at the Grand Pyramid hotel where you can actually see the Pyramids from your hotel room. Incredible. But were only here for 1 night
It was the longest trip ever. We rode on air france from Los Angeles to Paris, then from Paris to Switzerland and then Switzerland to Cairo…
Also for the record, if your’e ever flying outta the country, you may wanna get there 3 hours early as, they had already closed our gate an hour and a half early, we were the last ones to get on.
It was so cold on the plane, as all the parts of my body ached from getting hella shots before arriving at the airport…. The food was good, but super cold… I swear I feel like we ate hella meals before ever arriving to Egypt.
Switzerland was beautiful, I definitely wanna go there to visit, as we flew over it, you could see the snowy mountains peeking thru the the clouds, so beautiful.
Ok so as we arrive at the different airports, we find that security is not so extra as the us, we didnt have to take off our shoes, or even pull many things outta our bags…. crazy… and i was happy cus I swear we went thru like 5 checkpoints
We met a really cool guy from San diego while we were about to board our last plane to Egypt. He told us that food here was hella cheap, and that you could eat 3 courses a day and you would spend about a $1… as well as everyone smokes, but they DO NOT drink alcohol.
And that as a woman I had to remain covered up in egypt… No shoulders out, and nothing above the knee… something I preety much had figured from my research…
When we got to Egypt we immediately went and got our visas, there was no line at all and it was very easy and only $15…. While we waited for our driver, a guy came up and tried to get our bags for us, we refused, but then he started saying baksheesh, which means (tip) and we were like uh noooo, you didn’t do anything….
Anyway, the people were very nice as I saw ladies with all black draped all over them except for there eyes peeking thru, even there hands had black gloves covering them… As the children stared at me and smiled peeking over the chairs as if they were amazed at the fact that I had my head covered with my black hoodie.
Finally my driver comes, and we decide to get internet cards because to use the phone here was about $2.49 a min….and that would add up.. so skype it is…LOL although I did call my family and my little boy…. But i turned my data roaming off.
As we rolled to the hotel, we saw a donkey walking by, and all I could think of was that shrek movie, hilarious, we passed temples and different things, as well as stopped on bridge so that we could take a picture in front of the nile river. even tho it was 9pm the bridge was packed….
We got to our hotel and oddly enough there was a metal detector in the hotel and I wondered if it was like that everywhere…i have to admit made me a lil nervous….
Got to our room and I don’t know what was going on at the pyramids but I do know that it lit up for a few minutes and we got to see a peek of it from our balcony…
ok its 5:20 am im about to take a nap…. Our 1st day of excursions start in 4 hours. Off to the pyramids

Many thanks.
